Cricket Viral Video: During the first match of the 1996 Titan Cup against South Africa at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, Sourav Ganguly was involved in an unfortunate run-out incident. He was attempting a sharp single off the bowling of Fanie de Villiers when he collided with the bowler and fell to the ground.
By the time Ganguly was able to get back up and complete the run, he was already run-out by Brian McMillan, much to the disappointment of the spectators. However, South Africa captain Hansie Cronje displayed a remarkable show of sportsmanship by allowing Ganguly to continue batting by recalling him to the crease.
Despite this generous gesture, Ganguly was unable to capitalize on this second chance and was eventually dismissed for 31 by Allan Donald, who finished the game with impressive figures of 3-43. Despite a valiant effort, India fell short by 47 runs, as they were only able to score 214 in response to South Africa's 261, which was fueled by impressive half-centuries from Cronje and vice-captain Gary Kirsten.
This match will always be remembered for Cronje's sportsmanlike gesture in allowing Ganguly to continue batting, showcasing the true spirit of the game.
