Cricket Viral Video: Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten knock of 89 in the fourth Test match between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane is considered one of the greatest innings in Indian cricket history. His innings proved to be the decisive factor in India’s historic Test series win against Australia in their own backyard.

Rishabh Pant’s memorable knock

India was splaying without several big stars such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. When India resumed their innings on the fifth day, chasing a target of 328, all eyes were on Pant, who had been the hero of the third Test match in Sydney. With India struggling at 167 for 3, Pant walked in and showed great composure in the middle, playing his natural attacking game.

Despite losing wickets at the other end, Pant did not let the pressure get to him, and he kept the scoreboard ticking. He took on the Australian bowlers, playing some breathtaking shots, and the crowd at the Gabba was left in awe of his fearless strokeplay. Pant’s knock included nine fours and a six, and he got good support from Cheteshwar Pujara, who played a vital role in the partnership. But it was Pant’s brilliance that turned the game in India’s favour. Shubman Gill also slammed a valiant 91 run inning, stabilising the inning earlier in the start. This victory was monumental as India had beaten Australia at their home, plus at a venue which was referred earlier as their ‘Fortress’ since they hadn’t lost any test match their in last 32 years.

Pant’s innings was a perfect example of his unorthodox yet effective style of batting. He played his shots with great freedom and confidence, taking on the likes of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc. His attacking approach put the Australian bowlers on the back foot and allowed the Indian batsmen to dominate the game.
