MS Dhoni smashes Akhtar

On a pitch where bowlers were struggling to claim wickets, Akhtar aimed to unnerve the Indian batsmen with his beamers and yorkers, and even went so far as to sledging the Ranchi stalwart. Despite Dhoni's concentration being unwavering during his batting vigil, Akhtar bowled a deliberate beamer to him after giving up three boundaries in his spell in the 2nd Test at Faisalabad, with no remorse shown.

However, Dhoni decided to counterattack, hitting a flurry of boundaries. Akhtar, although bowling quickly, was unable to keep up with Dhoni's speed, causing his line and length to waver. The Pakistani bowlers were feeling the heat, as Dhoni showed no signs of letting up and eventually brought up his first Test hundred.

Thanks to his batting masterclass, India managed to score 603 in their first innings at Faisalabad. Dhoni's match-saving century against Pakistan was also his first century in Test cricket.
