Cricket Viral Video: In CPL 2023, Nyeem Young, the seamer from Barbados Royals, gave away 34 runs in a ten-ball over while facing Corbin Bosch and Dominic Drakes of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, ending their innings.

During the 10th match of CPL 2023, held at Warner Park in Basseterre on August 26, the Barbados Royals won the toss and chose to field first. By the 18-over mark, they would have been satisfied with their efforts in limiting the Patriots to a score of 147-6. However, the last two overs took the score to 197-6. The 19th over, delivered by Obed McCoy, conceded 16 runs, but it was the 20th over that proved important.

Young bowls off an expensive over

Entering the final over of the innings, Nyeem Young, who had bowled effectively earlier, holding figures of 2-21 off three overs, was given the ball. The over got off to a challenging start as Young bowled a wide delivery. He then sent a slow ball towards Drakes, who skillfully swung it over mid-wicket for a six. Unfortunately for Young, the following delivery turned into a high full toss above waist height, resulting in a no-ball and a free hit. Bosch took the opportunity, facing the free hit, and managed to hit a four and then a powerful six over mid-wicket. He had already given 20 runs off three balls.

Following a dot ball, Corbin Bosch continued his assault by smashing another six towards the cow corner. Nyeem Young's struggle continued as he bowled a wide delivery, giving away an extra run. In an unexpected turn, Young delivered yet another waist-high full toss, which was reverse-ramped by Bosch over the wicketkeeper for another six. In an attempt to regain control, Young managed to execute a yorker off the last ball of the over, restricting the batsmen to a single. This eventful over concluded with Young conceding a staggering 34 runs, highlighting the challenges he faced against the onslaught of powerful batting.

Despite the significant shift in momentum caused by the daunting batting display, the Barbados Royals managed to chase down the target with ease, securing a victory with six wickets in hand and over one full over to spare. This successful chase was led by the exceptional performance of captain Rovman Powell, who remained unbeaten and contributed significantly with a rapid 67 runs off 29 balls.
