While the runout is a common way to dismiss the batsman, a surprising incident happened last year during the ICC Women’s World Cup. This incident happens during Bangladesh's match against New Zealand during the first innings.
When Lata Mondal attempted to run three runs in Bangladesh's 26th over, the situation ultimately became quite tense. A strange stroke of fate prevented Jahanara Alam from being run out after the third run. The throw was caught by the New Zealand wicketkeeper when the batter was outside the crease, but Katey Martin was unable to smash the stumps with the ball because it got trapped in her gloves.
Martin had to punch the ball down since it became so weirdly stuck to the gloves that not even a slight push could free it. Most of the players on the field and crowd burst into laughter seeing the wicketkeeper’s plight. The video of the incident is going viral now.
In the rain-delayed game, Bangladesh scored 140/8 in 27 overs, and New Zealand easily reached the target with nine wickets yet to fall with seven overs to go.
