Cricket Viral Video: Back in Lahore, precisely eight years ago, a young talent by the name of Babar Azam marked his international debut with a composed half-century against Zimbabwe. Babar's inclusion came for the final match of the series, where Pakistan dominated and completed a clean sweep against The Chevrons in a triumphant display across three ODIs and two T20Is.
Following a solid opening partnership of 115 runs between Mohammad Hafeez and then-captain Azhar Ali, a young and composed Babar Azam walked to the crease when Pakistan reached 135-2 at the halfway stage.
Amidst the wobbling middle order, Babar displayed his trademark composure and resilience, refusing to let the foundation laid earlier go to waste. With patience and determination, Babar crafted his maiden international innings. It took him 54 balls to reach his half-century in the 45th over, hitting just four boundaries along the way. However, what mattered most was his steadfast presence at the crease, while other batsmen like Asad Shafiq and Sarfaraz Ahmed had already departed taking risks.
After contributing to his team's total of 296-6 with a fine knock, Babar was eventually dismissed by Chris Mpofu. Zimbabwe started their chase strongly, racing to 68 without loss from nine overs before rain intervened.

Babar's composed performance on his debut earned him a place in the Pakistan squad for the return tour of Zimbabwe later that year, and he has since become a key player for his country. The rest, as they say, is history. Since that memorable debut, the prolific captain has featured in 100 ODIs, boasting an average of nearly 60. He achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the fastest batter to score 5,000 runs in ODIs, propelling Pakistan to the top of the ODI rankings for the first time in the process.
