Cricket Viral Video: Virat Kohli is a fierce and competitive cricketer who always gives his best on the field. However, once he had a terrible series in England in 2014. In 2018, he returned as the captain of the Indian team, determined to put his past failures behind him and prove his critics wrong. India faced England in the first Test of a five-match series at Edgbaston, Birmingham, where Kohli took his revenge and smashed his first ever century in England.
England won the toss and decided to bat first at Edgbaston. India's bowlers performed well, restricting the hosts to a score of 287 with the help of Joe Root's 80 and Jonny Bairstow's 70. During the match, the crowd at Edgbaston booed the Indian team, particularly whenever Kohli appeared on the screen, as this was his first innings since the 2014 series.
At the start of the match, India's opening batsmen, Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan, played defensively and protected their wickets well. The first wicket fell at 50/1 in 13.4 overs. To boost the team's batting lineup, KL Rahul was promoted up the order to bat at number three. He started his innings with a boundary, but was unfortunately bowled out by Sam Curran in the very next delivery and had to leave the field.
The Indian captain came out to bat at number 4, and unfortunately, the crowd at Edgbaston booed and jeered at him. While the rest of the Indian team struggled to contribute to the scorecard, Kohli stood tall and played a brilliant inning, showing his fearless and attacking mindset. He led the team by example, taking the score forward despite losing wickets at the other end. Kohli remained calm and composed throughout and smashed his maiden hundred on England soil.
Kohli continued his aggressive innings and scored an impressive 149 runs, leading the Indian team to a total of 274 runs in the first innings of the match. However, India lost the match later by 31 runs.
