Cricket Viral Video: Virat Kohli has established himself as one of the greatest player of the sport. His playing style made him a unique player from the start itself. In the year 2013, when he was cementing his place as modern-day greats, he played one of the finest knock ever by an Indian in ODI. In a massive chase of 359 runs, he notched off his century in just 52 balls, shocking the entire Aussie team.

In a potentially record-setting bilateral ODI series, India and Australia demonstrated that in contemporary white-ball cricket, bowlers often find themselves with a diminished role. The encounter took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and marked the second match of their seven-ODI series.

Having won the toss, Australia opted to bat first, amassing a total of 359/5 within the span of 50 overs. The prominent performers among their top five batsmen – Aaron Finch, Phil Hughes, Shane Watson, captain George Bailey, and Glenn Maxwell – each secured half-centuries. Of these, Bailey (92*) and Hughes (83) emerged as the leading scorers. The Indian bowlers faced a daunting challenge on a batting-friendly wicket and struggled significantly.

In response, India’s top three batsmen unleashed a furious assault on the Australian bowlers. Shikhar Dhawan orchestrated a remarkable performance, amassing 95 runs off 86 balls, punctuated by 14 fours. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma exhibited an unbeaten display of exceptional batting, compiling 141 runs comprising 17 fours and 4 sixes from 123 balls. Their partnership for the first wicket yielded a substantial 176 runs, instilling a sense of challenge for the Australian side. The Australians might have experienced a momentary respite with Dhawan’s dismissal.

However, the stage was soon seized by Virat Kohli, who was already in an exceptional form and proceeded to decimate the Australian bowling lineup. Kohli’s onslaught led him to achieve the distinction of recording the fastest century by an Indian in ODIs. Remarkably, the right-handed batsman reached his century milestone in a mere 52 balls, comprising 8 fours and 7 sixes, while maintaining an astonishing strike rate of 192.30. This accomplishment surpassed the previous record set by Virender Sehwag, who achieved his century in 60 balls.
