Wriddhiman Saha gets down with Steve Smith

Everyone on the field and in the fans burst out laughing after the third delivery of the Australian innings’ 80th over. Ravindra Jadeja turned a ball inside out while bowling over the wicket, and it appeared as though the ball may have taken an inside edge to get caught between Smith’s legs. Wriddhiman Saha, the wicketkeeper, hilariously proceeded to try to grab it out from between Smith’s legs, and they both fell down at the same time.

In an effort to make a catch, the Indian keeper attempted to pull the ball out of the flap of the pad. Smith didn’t particularly like the idea, so he fought the attempt, and as a result, they both fell to the ground on top of one another. Karun Nair was rendered speechless at seeing them intertwined. Saha even appealed, which was funny because umpire Ian Gould started laughing. One of those umpires who enjoys his time on the field, Gould couldn’t help but laugh when he saw the two fall to the ground.

It is speculative as to whether Saha’s ability to gather the ball would have led to an appeal. But ultimately, it was ruled that the ball was dead. Later, the match was drawn. However, India went on to win the series by a margin of 2-1.
