Cricket Viral Video: Anil Kumble, Men in Blue's legendary spinner, took all 10 wickets in an inning in a Test match on this date in 1999, making him just the second bowler overall and the first Indian to accomplish the feat. At the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium (now Arun Jaitley Stadium), Kumble pulled off this "unthinkable achievement" against Pakistan in the Delhi Test.
The record for dismissing every batsman in an inning of a Test match belonged to England's Jim Laker before leg-spinner Kumble. In 1956, against Australia, Laker accomplished this amazing achievement. In front of a full stadium, Kumble bowled 26.3 overs—including 9 maiden overs—and completely destroyed Pakistan's batting line-up. During his spell, he gave up just 74 runs.
India scored 252 runs while batting first. Kumble's four-wicket blitz and Harbhajan Singh's three-wicket performance helped India restrict Pakistan to 174 in their first innings of reply. India reached 339 in the second innings thanks to the unbeaten 62 by Sourav Ganguly and the 96 by Sadagoppan Ramesh.

As he entered the record books and gave India a commanding 212-run victory, Kumble then jolted the Pakistan batting order and dismissed all 10 of their batsmen. Kumble was awarded as the "Player of the Match." His teammates and admirers call him "Jumbo."
