In the 83rd over, Johnson threw the ball back at Kohli, and the ball hit him hard. Kohli went down but immediately got back up and decimated Australians with a gutsy 169 runs innings. India failed to win the match, but Kohli made sure to give them a fightback that they will never forget.

Come to the fourth and final match of the series; Dhoni surprisingly retired from the test format. Kohli became the permanent captain of the team and ushered India into a new test era. Where India would defeat every team no matter what the circumstances were.
