Debutant Shreyas Iyer, all-rounder Ravindra shine as India end Day 1 at 258/4 in Kanpur

India finished Day 1 at 258 runs for the loss of four wickets. Shreyas Iyer was the standout performer for Team India on Day 1 with his 75-run knock and he is still not out. He was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja who is also not out on 50 runs. Jadeja and Iyer have added 113 runs for the fifth wicket.

For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson was the best bowler with his three top wickets on Day 1.

However, other bowlers have let the team down on entire day.

“Not a huge amount going on. Found some swing early and it was up and down a little bit. Hardly played the last couple of months. Nice to get back onto the park. Hopefully the new ball swings a little bit in the morning and we can get them. India fraction ahead I think. We hung around pretty well. Need a good start in the morning,” said Kyle Jamieson post match.

Scoreboard:

India 258/4
Shreyas Iyer 75*
Ravindra Jadeha 50*

Kyle Jamieson 3/47
