Delhi police issues a lookout notice to Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar over murder charges

Delhi Police has issued a lookout notice against Olympic medalist Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar in the murder of former junior international wrestler at Chhatrasal Stadium. According to Delhi Police, Sushil is absconding since the May 4 massacre at Chhatrasal Stadium and they are in search of him.

North-West Delhi Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr. Guripal Singh Sidhu told IANS, a lookout notice has been issued against Sushil. He is currently on leave and does not want to say much in this matter. According to senior police officials, 23-year-old Sagar Rana was beaten to death during a clash at Chhatrasal Stadium and Sushil is absconding since that incident.

“A lookout notice has been issued for Sushil Kumar,” Dr Guripal Singh Sidhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West Delhi), told IANS. He said he is currently on leave, and that he cannot say anything more on the issue.

The officer said that some wrestlers were injured during the skirmish and were admitted to the hospital, where one of them died. The Delhi Police had recorded the statements of some people who made allegations against Sushil. The officer said that the police have started a probe in this case by registering a case of murder.

The official said that several teams have been formed to trace many people, including Sushil. He said that the police is investigating the role of Sushil as charges have been made against him.

According to media reports, Delhi Police has questioned many people including Sushil Kumar’s father-in-law Satpal Singh. However, no information about Sushil has been revealed so far.
