Cricket cricketer Yash Dayal is now in serious legal jeopardy, booked under a second FIR for sexual assault, again on a minor. This latest case follows weeks of a case being lodged separately against him in Ghaziabad.

First Case (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh):

An FIR was initially lodged on July 6, 2025, at Indirapuram police station, Ghaziabad. A woman had complained of "exploitation" at Dayal's hands in a five-year relationship, alleging fake promises of marriage and physical and mental harassment. Allahabad High Court, on July 15, 2025, issued a stay order on Dayal's arrest in this particular case, instructing that no coercive steps be taken against him until the next hearing. The court allegedly made comments questioning the likelihood of someone being "fooled for five years" in a relationship.

Second Case (Jaipur, Rajasthan):

Yet another FIR was lodged against Dayal on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Jaipur's Sanganer Sadar police station. This is against a 17-year-old minor girl, when the first such incidents were allegedly reported. The FIR alleges that Dayal repeatedly sexually exploited her, first in 2023 and then in April 2024 in a Jaipur hotel. It's alleged that he used the guise of assistance in her cricket career to do so. The case was registered under Section 64 of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which carries a minimum 10-year prison term, among other applicable sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as the survivor is a minor. Jaipur police verified that they had registered the FIR and are taking the detailed statement of the survivor.

Current Status and Implications

Investigations have already begun on both cases. Yash Dayal, the mainstay player of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL, has made no public comment on these serious charges yet. While his arrest in the Ghaziabad case has been delayed by the Allahabad High Court, the new FIR under the POCSO Act in Jaipur is an additional and serious legal hurdle. The legal process and the nature of the charges can be a big game-changer for his cricketing career and public perception. It's good to remember that these are charges, and Dayal hasn't yet been found guilty in either case. The judicial process will determine if the charges are true or false.
