Dutee Chand: ‘Fastest Woman of India’ stirs up the internet by new picture with her girlfriend ‘Monalisa’

Dutee Chand: On Instagram, Dutee Chand, a well-known athlete, shared a picture of herself and her partner Monalisa dressed in traditional and party-styled clothing. “Love is love,” the gold medalist from the world championship and an Arjuna awardee, was written in the photo caption.

The picture was taken at the wedding of 24-year old star athelete’s sister wedding. Dutee Chand can be seen wearing a pristine blue jacket and matching pants, while Monalisa can be seen wearing a dark blue traditional outfit with gold embroidery.

Dutee Chand holds the title of ‘Fastest Woman in India”

With a time of 11.17 seconds, the sprinter set a new national record for finishing a 100-meter race. She was awarded with the prestigious Arjuna award in the year 2020. She is also the first sportsperson from India to declare a same-sex relationship. In May 2019, Dutee Chand made headlines when she revealed for the first time her relationship with Monalisa, a local of her village in Odisha.

Dutte Chand revealed her relationship in 2019

She is also the first sportsperson from India to declare a same-sex relationship. In May 2019, Dutee Chand made headlines when she publicly acknowledged her relationship with Monalisa, a local of her village in the state of Odisha.

When Dutee Chand said she wanted to settle down with Monalisa, her family objected to the relationship.

According to her, being in a same-sex relationship has caused people to view her “differently,” but she insisted that this doesn’t bother her at all. In July 2022, Dutte had said, “”One may fall in love anytime and with anyone. One does not decide that based on caste, religion, or gender.”
