Elgar puts South Africa in control as hosts end Day 3 at 118/2 in case of 240 vs India

India have set a 240-run target in front of South Africa in the second Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. South Africa are going strong in the chase with captain Dean Elgar unbeaten on 46. Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin picked one wicket each for India.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 266 runs in the second innings where Hanuma Vihari played a brilliant innings for the visiting side with his unbeaten 40-run knock.

Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara scored half-centuries but once again they failed to convert their good start to a big score.

India have never won a series in South Africa but this is the best time for the Asian side to beat South Africa for the first time at their home as they lead three-match series 1-0.
