Abdul Razzaq

Abdul Razzaq, the former all-rounder for Pakistan, is making headlines for all the wrong reasons again after he made a disgusting remark about Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai. Razzaq was questioned over the chaos and poor management within the Pakistan Cricket Board that resulted in the team’s elimination from the league stage of the 2023 ICC World Cup in India.

Abdul Razzaq’s Reference to Aishwarya Rai in PCB Critique

While criticising the PCB’s goals, Razzaq used the former Miss World as an example, which made everyone in the room chuckle. However, social media users did not find anything humorous about his remark. “I’m talking about their (PCB’s) intention here. I knew when I was playing that my captain Younis Khan’s intentions were good. I took confidence and courage from that and thanks to Allah I could deliver for Pakistan cricket. Right now a lot of talk here is surrounded around the Pakistan team and the players’ performances in the World Cup. I think we do not have the intention to polish and develop the players. If you think that I will get married to Aishwarya (Rai) to have a well-mannered and virtuous child, then that can never happen. So you have to correct your intentions first,” Razzaq said in Urdu.

Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi Back Razzaq’s Controversial Statement

Razzaq was sat among former Pakistan cricket players Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi, who appreciated his statement. However, Razzaq came under fire from social media users for his remarks about the Indian celebrity.

Pakistan Cricket Squad Faces Backlash After Disappointing World Cup

Fans and former cricket players in Pakistan have been quite critical of the Pakistan cricket squad and board since they lost five of their nine One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at the World Cup, including a crushing defeat to India, their bitterest rivals. Following the team’s disastrous performance in India, there have been rumours circulating in Pakistani media that PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf may remove Babar Azam from his captaincy and make significant changes to the squad.
