Heath Streak Cricketing Career

The ex-Zimbabwe skipper represented the nation in 65 Test matches and 189 One Day Internationals (ODIs). He maintains his position as Zimbabwe’s leading wicket-taker of all time in both Test matches and ODIs. The former right-arm paceman has secured 216 wickets in Tests and 239 in ODIs. Streak achieved the distinction of being the first Zimbabwean cricketer to reach 100 wickets in both Test matches and ODIs. He remains the solitary Zimbabwean player to accomplish the feat of 100 Test wickets and 1000 Test runs, as well as being the sole representative from the country to score 2000 runs and capture 200 wickets in ODIs.

Following his active playing career, Streak ventured into multiple coaching roles, encompassing stints with Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Gujarat Lions. However, in August 2021, a significant turn of events occurred. The International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed an eight-year ban on Streak from all cricket activities due to his violation of the governing body’s Anti-Corruption Code. While he admitted to five charges, Streak maintained his denial of match-fixing involvement.
