FIFA World Cup 2022: Lionel Messi-led Argentina easily overcame Australia to get to the quarterfinals in their Round of 16 encounter. Having scored the opening goal for his club that evening, Messi was once more among the goal scorers. Argentina increased its lead with a goal from Julian Alvarez in the 57th minute. Despite Enzo Fernandez scoring for Australia, the game had already been decided up to that point.
Lionel Messi’s son threw chewing gum in stands
Although Lionel Messi’s team won the match, his respect for others and high standards were damaged when his child was caught acting inappropriately in front of the public. Mateo Messi, Messi’s seven-year-old son, appeared to throw chewing gum at the spectators seated in the stadium stands at Qatar during the round of 16 match on Sunday.
While Argentina fans were cheering for their favourite player, Lionel Messi, his son indulged in throwing used chewing gum at them, and the video was taken to capture the moment on camera. However, the boy’s mother Antonela Roccuzzo soon began to educate him. On social media, the video has become very popular.

As he seeks to finally win football’s biggest tournament, Messi has acknowledged that his children are his inspiration. But Antonela, an Argentine friend, didn’t let the occasion get to their sons’ heads and quickly corrected Mateo’s behaviour by calling him off the stage.
