Former India bowling coach feel Jasprit Bumrah ‘doesn’t has to change his bowling action’

Jasprit Bumrah

Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has stated that Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently reeling from an injury and has been waiting for his chance to play for Team India again, does not need to change his action. Bumrah has been out of action for last couple of months adding worries for the Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid-led team management.

Long wait for Bumrah

He suffered a back injury, which forced him to miss the mega event in Australia. After months of recovery, the pacer had cleared a match simulation test at the NCA in Bengaluru and was on his way back into the side after being named in the ODI squad for the Sri Lanka series.

“Bumrah is the number one bowler and has been very successful with his action, so why should he ever change that? Tell me about the one fast bowler who hasn’t got injured, injuries are part and parcel of the game,” Bharat Arun, who is part of the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders coaching set-up at ILT20, told a news outlet.

‘Bumrah has done enough’

“Bumrah has done enough for Indian cricket and being injured is also part of his career and I am sure he will come out of it,” he added.

With no Bumrah in the Indian Test setup for next month’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India have included several performers of the Ranji Trophy in the Test side. Jayadev Udnadkat is also one of those who recently played for India in the whites after a decade-long gap.
