Team India is all set to organise an Intra-squad match between the India senior team and India A team ahead of the five-Test match series. It will be a four-day warm-up game, and the game will be played under closed doors.

Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir opted for a closed-door Intra-squad match as the opposition didn’t get any tactical idea. But now Gambhir flew back to India due to health issues with his mother and will join the squad next week.

Who will take charge of Team India in the absence of Gautam Gambhir?

According to the news, the assistant coach of the Indian team, Ryan ten Doeschate, will take charge of the Indian team for the Intra-squad warm-up match in the absence of Gautam Gambhir.

The Intra-squad match will also decide the bowling attack for the initial matches of the Test series against England. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will be in the playing XI, but the third seamer mystery will end in the Intra-squad match.

Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Prasidh Krishna will be looking to showcase a good performance and seal their place in the playing XI of the Indian Test team.

India vs India A practice match

India A has already played two Test matches in England as they take on England Lions, but some senior team players also took part in the India A match, like KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair and more.

Now, all these players will represent the senior team. Ishan Kishan joined the India A squad and might be their first-choice wicket-keeper for the practice game. The Intra-squad match will take place between June 13 to June 16, and BCCI has also banned the media and broadcasters from the unofficial practice game.
