Great Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar wants KL Rahul to start the innings in place of Prithvi Shaw, who is in poor form in the second Test against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) starting on 26 December.
Former Indian captain Gavaskar wants Shubman Gill to play in the middle order. On the possible change in the Indian XI, Gavaskar said, “India can make two changes. Lokesh Rahul can be given the chance to replace Prithvi Shaw as the first opener.
Gavaskar said, ‘Shubman Gill should come at number five or sixth. He is in good form. If we start well, things can change. ”Gavaskar said that if India does not adopt a positive attitude then the team may face a 0–4 defeat.
The former Indian captain said, “India has to be confident that they can return in the remaining matches of the Test series. If India does not adopt a positive attitude, then the series may lose 0-4. But if they can adopt positive attitude then why not adopt it. It can happen (return). ‘
