Rain forced a delay in the toss, which was held at 7:45 PM although the match was scheduled to begin at 8 PM. Both sides made adjustments, with Gujarat selecting Josh Little and Sai Sudharsan in place of Dasun Shanaka and Darshan Nalkande and Mumbai selecting Kumar Kartikeya in place of Hrithik Shokeen.

Saha's Stumping Gives Mumbai Indians an Early Advantage
Saha is picked up by Piyush Chawla, and Titans lose their first wicket. Chawla deftly threw one down the leg side as the right-hander advanced down the track towards him. Knowing the circumstances, Kishan completes a straightforward stumping. Despite Jordan dropping Gill in the previous game, the first wicket provided some solace for the Mumbai captain.
