Hardik Pandya: Why was star all-rounder given bowled out when he actually hit a four? Know reason here | Watch Video

Hardik Pandya hit wicket

Hardik Pandya: After winning the toss at Adelaide Oval, the England Cricket Team had decided to bowl. They would deem themselves as quite successful as India was restricted to 168 runs after 20 overs. However, a video from the last ball of India’s inning is getting viral with fans being confused on Hardik Pandya’s dismissal.

Brave knock from Hardik Pandya

India scored just 38 runs in the power play, losing just one wicket in the process. Scoring was difficult since England’s bowlers were so precise with their line and length. When the Men in Blue lost three wickets for 75 runs in 11.2 overs, it looked as though they would only be able to reach approximately 150 runs.

The slick all-rounder Hardik Pandya put together a crucial 61-run partnership with Virat Kohli. The pair ensured that India recorded a formidable score. Hardik Pandya achieved his half-century before the 20th over began and played fairly ruthlessly.

The reason for Hardik Pandya being adjourned out

Jordan was bowling the 20th over and was fairly accurate with his line and length, but Pandya hit him hard on the fourth and fifth ball. Jordan threw a short ball on the sixth delivery, and Pandya hit him for a four but at the same time he also hit the stumps with his legs and was adjourned out, otherwise, India would have set a target of 173 runs.

It would be difficult for England to chase down 169 since the spinners have a lot of support. Jos Buttler will once again be the crucial batter as the captain must ensure that he takes advantage of the power play opportunities. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has a strong record versus England, will be India’s top hope for early breakthroughs.

Given that this is his first appearance in a knockout game in an ICC event as a captain, Rohit Sharma will be put to the test.
