Sachin Tendulkar: On April 24, the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar's 50th birthday, the Sydney Cricket Ground paid tribute to the legendary cricketers by unveiling gates named after them. The gates at the iconic Australian venue were named after Tendulkar, a former Indian player, and his good friend and former West Indies cricketer, Brian Lara. This marks the first time that non-Australian players have had their names inscribed on a set of gates at SCG.

The gates that bear the names of Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are positioned between the away dressing room of the Member's Pavilion and the Noble Bradman Messenger Stand.
