ICC announces full schedule of WTC 3

Recently, Australia defeated India by 209 runs at The Oval in London and won the title of the second ICC World Test Championship. Now the ICC has announced the schedule of the third Test Championship cycle. This third test championship cycle is starting from the Ashes series-2023. This Ashes series is starting from June 16. The final of this Test Championship will be held at the Lord's ground, which is called the Mecca of cricket.

Starting with the Ashes series, 68 matches will be played in a total of 27 series in this third Test Championship. Bangladesh, India, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Australia will participate in this championship.

The series will be like this

There will be two five-match Test series in every Test Championship cycle. Nine teams will play six series in which three in their home and three outside their home. At the end of this Test Championship, the top two teams in the points table will play the final at Lord's in 2025. Apart from the Ashes in this cycle, the series to be played between India and England will be a five-match Test series. Apart from this, the Border Gavaskar Trophy to be played between India and Australia will also be a five-match Test series.

On the other hand, if we look at the schedule of the Indian team, Team India will play three Tests against New Zealand, five Tests against England, two Tests against Bangladesh at their home. While away from home, India will play five Test series against Australia, two against West Indies and two against South Africa. The Indian team is going on a tour of the West Indies in July and will start their Test Championship campaign here with a two-Test series. The first matches will be played in Dominica from 12 to 16 July and in Trinidad from 20 to 24 July.

After the West Indies tour, Team India will go on a tour of South Africa in December-January. Then the England team will come on a tour of India in January-February next year and will play a five-match Test series. After this India will host Bangladesh in September-October 2024. After Bangladesh, India will become the host of New Zealand. Then India and Australia will play the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from November 2024 to January 2025 and with this their Test Championship era will end.
