ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Keshav Maharaj was the Proteas hero last night when he guided his team to a sensational victory. What might be the best match of this World Cup, the South African team prevailed strong.
Maharaj was not able to impress with the ball as he had underwhelming figures of 56 runs in 9 overs. But he made sure that he would finish the things on the other side with the bat in his hands.
After Aiden Markram got out in a clinch position of the match, everything fell on Maharaj’s shoulder. He had to make sure that he crossed the finish line for his team. And he did that in style.

It looks like Mohammad Nawaz has very bad luck with the last overs. It was a flashback to the T20 World Cup in 2022 where Ravichandran Ashwin smashed him for a boundary to win the match. Once again he had the ball and Keshav Maharaj hit a brilliant boundary to secure the win for Africa.
The Proteas needed 21 runs in 58 deliveries but with no wickets in hands. Maharaj and Shamsi played with much-needed patience and brilliantly to evade the dangerous bowling of Pakistan.
Maharaj became the hero of the match and became a loved player for every Proteas fan. But his Instagram post after the match has made almost every Indian his fan as well and his post has gone viral.
