International Cricket Council (ICC) has released all-time T20I batting rankings featuring England’s Dawid Malan on top with 915 points followed by Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, and Suryakumar Yadav. Virat Kohli has 897 points while Suryakumar has 895 points. Suryakumar was declared No. 1 T20I batter after his impeccable performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia where India were knocked out in the semifinal.
Suryakumar has provided stability in the Indian middle order since he was given the No. 4 spot and has performed continuously in 2021. Plus he is the leading run-scorer in T20Is in 2022.
Kohli’s dominance continues
While it should be also noted that even after being away from form for almost two years, Virat Kohli managed to secure the third spot in the list. Kohli made a spectacular return to form during the Asia Cup in August-September and has been the prime contributor to Indian batting since then.
Kohli was also the leading run-scorer in the T20 World Cup held in Australia. The Star batter’s innings against Pakistan in the marquee tournament was the perfect example of how important he has been for India across formats.
While Suryakumar was the second-highest-run scorer for India after Virat Kohli. Yadav’s knock against South Africa in the T20 World Cup remained in talks for days.
