ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has finally joined the English team as their batting consultant. Pollard was announced as Matthew Mott's assistant way back in December last year.

However, due to his prior commitments in franchise cricket, he was not able to join the squad till now. He was the batting mentor of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 and was playing in the Carribean Premier League and Pakistan Premier League.

But he has finally joined the English squad and it will be a huge boost for the Three Lions. England is one of the most aggressive sides in the world of cricket. And adding a player like Pollard to their staff makes them a favorite in this tournament.

First Session

The England Cricket official social media account posted a picture of Pollard in Barbados with the English squad. The picture was captioned 'First Session,' indicating that the former T20 World Cup winner completed his first session in Barbados.

Pollard has represented West Indies in 101 T20is and was part of the squad in 2012 when they won this title. He was also the captain of the Carribean side in 2021 and announced his retirement from International cricket in 2022.

It is quite shocking that Pollard did not choose to coach his national side. But this addition to the camp has made England even stronger because Pollard knows how to finish a match. If he can groom players like Harry Brook and Jos Buttler as finishers, England will be even scarier.
