ICC T20 World Cup 2024: The USA team has been on a tear in the ongoing tournament. After defeating Canada and upsetting Pakistan, they are eyeing the Super 8 spot in the tournament.
Even after losing against India, they are in pole position behind India to advance from the group. It will be a huge achievement for the team that is playing its first ICC tournament. No matter what happens from here, they have shocked everyone and have given every one to look something forward to.
But the things have not been so good off-the-field as few USA players engaged in a war of words of social media. The USA pacer Ali Khan and Jaskaran Malhotra had a tense moment on 'X' and it went viral on social media.
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: War Of Words
Jaskaran Singh is one of the few batsmen who has hit six sixes in an over but was left out of the USA T20 World Cup squad. In his place, Shayan Jahangir was selected to open the innings for the United States.
And it looks like, Malhotra has still not made peace with the fact. He shared a meme on 'X' targeting Jahangir who had previously stated that he would like to face Virat Kohli to show "Who Is King."
Jahangir was dismissed on the very first delivery he faced against India and was trolled for his statement. Malhotra reshared one of the memes trolling Jahangir and it did not sit right with medium pacer Ali Khan.
"Never Expected This"
Ali Khan responded and was furious with Jaskaran. Ali stated that he never expected this from his ex-teammate. He also termed this tweet by Jaskaran as unprofessional.
Malhotra deleted the reshared meme and also stated that it was never his intention to hurt anyone. He further clarified that he was shutting down the person who made the meme and has been fighting for his team.
