ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8s: Team West Indies were always the favourites to win their game against Zimbabwe but the Windies shock stormed the world out of nowhere. In yesterday’s Super 8 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, West Indies scored a massive 254/6 to trash Zimbabwe by 107 runs.

West Indies’ Historic Rampage

Star Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer scored a speculator 85 runs off 34 balls with 7 towering sixes. On the other hand, Rovman Powell hammered 59 off 35 balls. The unbeaten knock of 31 off 13 balls by Sherfane Rutherford and some unbelievable power-hitting from Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder propelled West Indies to the second-highest T20 World Cup total ever—behind only Sri Lanka’s 260/6 from 2007.

In reply, the Zimbabwe batting collapsed like never before in this ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The team collapsed to a score of 147 all out in just 17.4 overs.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8s: How Team India Can Reach Semis?

India could enter the semis of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in the following ways:

Scenario 1: India Wins Both Its Matches

India would next face Zimbabwe on February 26 and then would face West Indies on March 1. If India wins both these matches with a big victory margin, it may have a chance to the semis. Winning just the 2 matches would not be enough.

India also wants South Africa to win both its remaining matches so both South Africa and India could reach the semis.

If South Africa loses one of its games and India went on to win both its matches, three teams may end up tied on 4 points each. In such a case, team qualification would then be decided by net run rate.

If South Africa loses both its remaining games and India wins both its games then West Indies and India would qualify for the semis.

If India Wins One Match

If India manages to win only a single game, it would be eliminated out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, irrespective of what happens in other group games.
