ICC WC 2023: Former Indian Men Cricket’s opener Virendra Sehwag has already picked his 4 finalists s for the World Cup(WC) later this year. When asked ths queston: Sehwag quicly responded with India, England, Australia and Pakistan. Former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan gave the same reply to this question. Sehwag was speaking with the Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and ICC CEO Geoff Aldridge at a event where WC schedule was announced in Mumbai.
Both Sehwag and Muralitharan agreed that subcontinent teams have a better idea of playing spin and willl be favourites to win the world cup.
Spinners will play a huge part
The subcontinent pitches always play in favour of spinners better. The subcontinents teams have a good arsenal of spin bowling in their attacks. However Australian and England boasts good players of spin bowling with long stints of playing in IPL.
Top batters
Virat Kohil and Rohit Sharma were the favorite picks as top batters of Sehwag along with Australian aggressive opener David Warner. Muralitharan choose Virat Kohli, Babar Azam and Joe Root as his top batters for the tournament.
