ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023: Oman Stir Past UAE With Another Brilliant Team Effort

ICC World Cup Qualifiers: Oman is coming out as the team to look forward to this World Cup Qualifier tournament. After creating a massive upset by defeating Ireland in the first group stage match, Oman followed the momentum with a comfortable victory over UAE.

This win put them on top of Group B with two wins in two matches. Their qualification to the super six is almost confirmed as Ireland and UAE have lost both their matches. UAE once again showed a brilliant team effort, proving why it takes 11 players to win a cricket match.

A Brilliant Team Effort

Oman bowled correct lines and lengths throughout the match and stopped UAE to a mere 227/8 in 50 overs. Jay Odedra took three wickets, while Bilal Khan and Fayaz Butt took 2 wickets each to break UAE’s batting spine.

In reply, Oman lost their opening batsmen cheaply. But half-centuries from Aqib Ilyas, Shoaib Khan, and Mohammad Nadeem, with a fiery 41 from 36 deliveries by Ayaan Khan, directed Oman to a victory with 4 overs remaining.
