IND vs AUS: The final ODI series before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has started and India is onto a flying start. On one of the flattest tracks in the world, Mohammad Shami gave India a dream start.
But it was also KL Rahul and his captaincy and impeccable field placement that led to the fall of the wicket in the first over itself. It reminds you of other great ODI captains like MS Dhoni. He also sued to take wickets with his field placement.
India got a wicket in the first over itself, and they did not change every field position for it. It was just a slight tweak that led to a sensational start to this IND vs AUS ODI series. The final test before World Cup 2023.
The Perfect Trap To Start IND vs AUS
Mohammad Shami and KL Rahul wove a perfect trap for Mitchell Marsh in the first over itself. Everyone knows that Shami is near perfect bowler when it comes to line and length. And the new captain made sure to make use of that.
The over started with three full deliveries by Shami out of which one was sent to the boundary lines. The other two were full and on the off stump and just when Marsh was settled with the swing, Shami strikes.
An out-swinging delivery between the middle and off stump took a thick outside edge as Marsh was left in no man’s land. The ball carried to second slip and Shubman Gill took a regulation catch.
Smart Field Placement By KL Rahul
The masterstroke by KL Rahul was not realized by everyone, but the skipper set Gill on the second slip rather than the first. There was no first slip and the ball carried to him perfectly. An acute and slightly unorthodox field position led to this dismissal.
