To secure a spot in the final, India must overcome Sri Lanka's potential to reach a 60-plus percentage during their two-match series against New Zealand in March. If Australia is unable to secure a draw or win in the upcoming three Tests, it will present an opportunity for Sri Lanka (53.33) to qualify for the final if they successfully defeat New Zealand 2-0 in their upcoming series.

A 3-1 series win against Australia would secure India a percentage of 61.92, putting them in the final alongside Australia and ahead of Sri Lanka's best outcome (61.11). A 2-2 draw would see India finish ahead of South Africa's best possible finish with 56.4 percent and also secure their spot if Sri Lanka drops points against New Zealand.
