IND vs AUS

IND vs AUS: On the first day of the fourth Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia’s opener Usman Khawaja secured his first Test century in India, taking the team to 255 for 4 at stumps. Khawaja’s remarkable innings made waves on social media, but fans were also amused by a comical incident involving Khawaja, KS Bharat, and Virat Kohli.

KS Bharat’s unnecessary throw

In the 71st over of the match, Mohammed Shami bowled a bouncer to Usman Khawaja, which he ducked. However, the ball went straight to the wicketkeeper KS Bharat, who, despite Khawaja being safe, threw it towards the stumps in an attempt to run him out.

As the ball missed its target and hit Khawaja on the legs, the Australian player smiled sheepishly. However, Kohli, who was standing at the slips, seemed annoyed by Bharat’s move. A clip of the entire incident was shared on Twitter, where Kohli clearly looked upset from Bharat. Nonetheless, Bharat realised his mistake and promptly went to Khawaja to apologise.

It’s worth noting that KS Bharat is not only the wicketkeeper for the Indian cricket team but also plays as a batter for Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Coming to the match, Australia scored 480 runs in the first innings, thanks to a century from Cameron Green and a 180-run knock from Usman Khawaja. Ashwin picked up a six-wicket haul in the innings.
