Today is the second day of the third match, and Team India’s star bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, has already surpassed the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev by taking three wickets in the first innings.
Ashwin Surpasses Kapil Dev’s Record
Before the third game, Ashwin, the most effective spin bowler on the current Indian team, had 686 career international wickets. He has 689 wickets and has surpassed Kapil Dev with his three wickets in the first innings. In his 356 matches across 356 international contests, Kapil Dev claimed 687 wickets across 448 innings. However, Ashwin has fewer wickets than Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh.
India Dominates Australia in the Test Series
For India, Ravichandran Ashwin has participated in all three formats. In 91 Test matches, he has played, and he has 466 wickets at an average of 24. He has participated in 65 T20I games and 113 ODIs, playing in which he has claimed 151 wickets in 111 innings.
