IND vs BAN: On December 14 (Wednesday), the first of the two Test matches between Bangladesh and India began. Men in Blue lost their top three players quickly after choosing to bat first. By the end of the day, though, Rishabh Pant’s cameo and Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara’s excellent combination had helped the visitors recover. However, something unexpected happened during the play that day that left everyone puzzled.
Ebadot Hossain, a fast bowler, was able to get past Iyer’s line of defence in the 84th over of the innings. The balls hit the stumps but the bails didn’t fall off. Interestingly, the batter survived a narrow escape since the bails shifted from their positions as a result of the contact but did not come down as required by the rules.
At the time of the occurrence, Shreyas Iyer was at 77* and is currently unbeaten. Additionally, Ebadot dropped him on 67, and he has ridden his luck today. Shreyas Iyer was later spotted smiling with Cheteshwar Pujara on the pitch. Even a few Bangladeshi players were spotted laughing too.

India ends the day at 278/6
With Shreyas Iyer leading the way for the team and being undefeated at 82, India finished the first day of the first Test on 278/6. Another standout Indian batsman, Cheteshwar Pujara, scored 90 runs and was unfortunate not to reach the triple-digit milestone. When Mehidy Hasan Miraz broke through Axar Patel’s defence on the final ball of the day, Bangladesh had a respectable day. Axar Patel had done well to score 14 runs.
