Ind vs Eng 3rd Test: Top Reasons Why India Lost 3rd Test Against England

The third Test at Lord's was a huge win for England by 22 runs over India. They now lead the five-match series 2-1. Even though Ravindra Jadeja put up a strong fight, the Indian hitting order failed in the fourth innings as they tried to catch up.

Even though Jadeja fights by himself, India fails to win. On the last day, they were bowled out for 170 runs while chasing 193 runs to win. Ravindra Jadeja was still going strong with 61* while wickets went at the other end. He ran out of partners as England's pace attack put too much pressure on the lower order, which fell apart.

India's top order didn't put up much of a fight; only Jadeja and KL Rahul scored more than 30 runs. Leading the pace group were Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, and Joe Root. They never let the Indian batters settle down. Archer's lightning-fast speed shook up the middle order, and Stokes' three key wickets capped off a great effort all around.

Stokes Does Great in His Return Test

England captain Ben Stokes had one of his best all-around games after coming back from a long injury break and hamstring surgery. He won the Player of the Match award because he made 44 and 33 runs in both innings and took five wickets in both.

Stokes showed great leadership and determination, especially in the last session when he put pressure on the bowlers by strategically placing the fields and bowling aggressively.

India's Well-Known Fall in Low Chase

India's inability to chase down small goals in the fourth innings is still bothering them. They lost again when they were under a lot of pressure, even though they only needed fewer than 200 runs. The lower order only scored 23 runs over the last four wickets, which cost them the game in the end.

Bashir's last blow was the turning point

Even though Shoaib Bashir had a broken finger, he did an amazing thing by getting Mohammed Siraj out to end the match. His spinning throw hit the bails and sealed England's dramatic win, which made the home crowd go crazy.

In the end, India had another tough day chasing a small target. Even though players like Jadeja gave it their all, the team couldn't hold it together under pressure. England stayed calm and took their chances, while India let the game slip away. With the series now 2-1 in England’s favour, India needs to bounce back quickly. The next matches will be all about better teamwork, fewer mistakes, and staying strong till the very end.
