IND vs NZ: Star Indian allrounder Hardik Pandya reaffirmed his value with a magnificent caught and bowled in the second Match of the contest against Kiwis in Raipur on Saturday (January 21). Pandya took a fantastic reflex grab in his first over with the ball in hand to eliminate the Kiwis' crucial top-order batter Devon Conway as he was just getting set.

Conway made a defensive poke to the bowler's left but was caught when Hardik Pandya made a spectacular dive towards the ball and collected an excellent catch in the most unassuming manner.

Hardik Pandya takes yet another stunner

The way the bowler went down on the ball and took the ball inches off the ground made it one of the more difficult catches seen in recent times, and it was done with such ease. The way Pandya stood up and started heading to his mark made the grab much more memorable.

The catch happened on the fourth delivery of the tenth over of New Zealand's first innings, with the visitors batting first. Conway's eyes lighted up as he saw a full-pitcher that he could drive straight up, facing Hardik Pandya from an over-the-wicket angle across the left-hander. However, he made a little connection to the bowler's left-hand side, culminating in a jaw-dropping grab.

Pandya's ability to move and dive for the ball in a split second proved his fitness and agility, and the way he finished the fielding act and got up with incredible nonchalance demonstrated his flair and elegance.

Even the commentators were caught aback as it took them a second or two to realise what had happened, particularly former India spinner Murali Karthik, who initially mistook it for a bump ball and is now returning to his mark for the next delivery.

To his and everyone else's surprise, the rest of the Indian fielders began circling the Indian allrounder to begin off celebrations for another wicket, eliciting a tremendous wave of applause from the full Raipur audience.
