IND vs NZ: Mohammed Shami produced a stunning opening spell in the current second ODI against New Zealand in Raipur. Rohit Sharma, India's captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first against New Zealand. Rohit took his time announcing his choice to play, telling the presenter that he "forgot" about the team call.

However, the decision paid well as the bowlers were able to dismiss half the Kiwi team for just 15 runs. The opening order failed miserably in the second ODI.

The experienced pacer struck twice in the opening powerplay, putting New Zealand three down early. Shami got the catch off his own bowling after casting off Finn Allen for duck with an in-swinging delivery to terminate Daryl Mitchell's time in the middle.

Mitchell attempted to dab Shami's ball but miscued his stroke, which sailed straight to the bowler, who executed a superb return-catch. Shami, on the other hand, appeared to have received a hit on his finger during the process.

The hosts, who lead the three-match series 1-0, are unchanged from their opening victory in Raipur. New Zealand also used the same lineup as in the series opener on Wednesday, and stand-in skipper Tom Latham claimed he would have bowled if he had won the toss. India won the first ODI in Hyderabad by 12 runs, thanks to Shubman Gill's double century.
