IND vs PAK Champions Trophy 2025: After a humiliating defeat in the IND vs PAK Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai, Pakistan’s cricket team is facing immense criticism. Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar got emotional while discussing the team’s performance and made a shocking remark. He stated that if he wasn’t paid, he wouldn’t even talk about Pakistan cricket.
Rohit Sharma-led Team India dominated the match with stellar performances from Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer. Their aggressive batting left Pakistan reeling, triggering strong reactions from Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, and other Pakistani cricketers.
Shoaib Akhtar, visibly frustrated after Pakistan’s loss, made a statement that quickly went viral on social media. In a video shared on X by a user named Haider, Akhtar was heard saying: "Mujhe toh inke paise na milte, mein yaha baithta bhi na, baat bhi na karta." ("If I wasn’t paid, I wouldn’t even sit here or talk about Pakistan.")

Expressing his frustration, he added, "Honestly, mera koi lena dena nahi hai cricket se, wo toh mujhe request karke bulaya toh mein aa jata hun." ("Honestly, I have nothing to do with cricket. I just come because I’m requested to.")
Shoaib Akhtar, who has been active in cricket commentary since 2011, criticised Pakistan’s team selection and management, blaming them for the disappointing performance.
Former cricketer Shoaib Malik also reacted emotionally to Pakistan’s crushing defeat. During a TV talk show, he sang the song "Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Mein Beh Gaye," symbolising his heartbreak over the loss.
Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan admitted that India completely outplayed Pakistan. He praised Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock and said: "I'm totally impressed with Virat Kohli's ethics. I'll praise his fitness and efforts, people say he's out of form, but tonight he did it effortlessly"
