IND vs SA: After winning the T20I series by 2-1, Team India lost the first ODI match by 9 runs that was played at the Atal Vihari Bajpayee Stadium, Lucknow. One of the reasons for the same is poor fielding. In the first innings, the Men in Blue missed a total of three catches, allowing the African hitters to punish the Indian spinners.

When South Africa batted first, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen both put up outstanding performances as they helped the team reach 249/4 in 40 overs. In addition to Miller's undefeated 75 off 63 balls, Klaasen also contributed to the Proteas' decent total with 74 off 65 balls.

Batters David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen completed their respective fifty-sixes and put a respectable total on the board for the Proteas after being dropped by the Indian fielders.

The Indian fielders, had a relatively mediocre day as they missed several catches during South Africa's innings, giving their hitters numerous opportunities. Indian players Mohammed Siraj, Ravi Bishnoi, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are among those who missed opportunities to make catches throughout the game. The majority of misfielding instance happened when the Proteas batsmen attempted to play huge shots to push the score above 250 toward the end of the first inning.

Ball Boy takes a perfect catch

One of the ball boys demonstrated proper fielding technique to Indian players who were dropping catches. Miller hammered Avesh Khan's delivery over deep midwicket in the 38th over, and the person, who was standing outside the playing field, grabbed an amazing catch. In the same over, Bishnoi dropped Miller. Social media is exploding with a video of the ground personnel taking a fantastic catch.

Talking about the match, India lost the game by 9 runs, despite some brave efforts by Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan too had a bad at office as he could manage to score just 4 off 16 balls. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson remained unbeaten with 86 off 63 balls.
