Ind Vs WI 2023: Indian team is enjoying their time in West Indies. The batsman is batting well, the bowlers are getting wickets, especially the spinners, and the fielders are fielding well. It has been a perfect series for India so far.
And the trend continued in the second test as well. But the man that is enjoying himself the most in the Caribbean is definitely Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper is having the time of his life in the country.
While reaching the milestone of 500 international matches is a feat in itself, Virat Kohli has reached other milestones and broke several other records as well. Records that are worthy of his king title, let's take a look at all the records Kohli has broken.
Left Jacques Kallis Behind
In his 500th match, Virat Kohli left former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis behind and became the fifth-highest run scorer in international cricket. A milestone that has entered him into the greatest of all-time list.
Virat Kohli now has 25,548 runs in International cricket as he remained not out on 87* on the first day of the second test. He left Kallis(25534 runs) behind and entered into the top 5. Only Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Mahela Jayawardene have scored more than Kohli.
Century In His 500th Match
Virat Kohli became the first player in the history of cricket to score a half-century in his 500th match and now he has the golden opportunity to score a century as well. He just needs 13 runs to reach the milestone, which will make him an all-time great.
Kohli looked comfortable on the crease on the first day of Ind Vs WI 2023 and is comfortably walking towards his century and we hope that he achieves that 76th century today.
