July 6,  Birmingham:  Team India showed how dominant they were by beating England by 336 runs in the second Test at Edgbaston. It was their first-ever Test win at the venue, and the series is now tied at one game apiece.

Shubman Gill's Show Record Broke Performance

With a great batting effort, Shubman Gill led from the front.  He set a record by scoring 430 runs. He got 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second.  He is now only the second player in cricket history, after Allan Border, to score both a double century and a 150+ in the same Test.

Gill broke Sunil Gavaskar's long-standing Indian Test record. He was the first Indian to do this on English land, which added to his reputation as a superstar of the next generation.

When Bumrah isn't around, Akashdeep steps up

While pace leader Jasprit Bumrah was taking a break, Akash Deep took the chance to shine.  With 10 wickets for 187 runs, including a six-wicket haul in the second innings, the right-arm seamer had a great game.  His steady line and swing helped break up England's middle and lower order.

Mohammed Siraj was also very important. He took six wickets in the first game and put pressure on the team right away.

The End of the Final Day: England Loses Again

England started Day 5 on 72/3, needing to beat a tough 608.  Even though Jamie Smith scored 88 after scoring 188 in the first innings, England gave up when they were under pressure and were bowled out for 271.

The hitters didn't have much help from the pitch at Edgbaston, and India's well-rounded bowling attack took advantage of that to secure a big win.

What's Next?

The first two Tests were tied, so now all eyes are on the Lord's for the third Test. India's spirits are high after this historic win, while England needs to recover and rethink their plans. They might want to call on Jofra Archer or Gus Atkinson to improve their bowling.
