India vs New Zealand: Kyle Jamieson was in really good rhythm, says Shubman Gill

India opener Shubman Gill has stated that New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson was in great touch on Day 1. Gill was dismissed by Jamieson in the first over post lunch on the first day.

“I think Jamieson bowled pretty well today, especially in the first spell he bowled with the new ball. He bowled in pretty good areas to me and Mayank (Agarwal). When I came to bat after lunch, that over was top-notch, especially the whole spell he bowled. He looked in a really good rhythm,” said Gill in the virtual press conference.

Gill made a good return to the side with his fifty plus knock while opening the batting for Team India.

“Obviously, it felt good. When you play a (Test) match after three months, it felt really good. To play a match in India, especially with the crowd back, we are looking forward to play the rest of the match,” said Gill while replying to a question from IANS.

India finished Day 1 at 258 runs for the loss of four wickets. Shreyas Iyer was the standout performer for Team India on Day 1 with his 75-run knock and he is still not out. He was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja who is also not out on 50 runs. Jadeja and Iyer have added 113 runs for the fifth wicket.
