India vs South Africa, 1st ODI: Sanju Sanson proves himself but South had last laugh, beat India by 9 runs

South Africa beat India in a closely-contested game by 9 runs in Delhi. In the chase of 240 in just 40 overs, Sanju Samson top-scored for the Indian team with his 86 runs while Shreyas Iyer got a 37 ball 50. The match went till the last over where India needed 30 tune to win and Tabraiz Shamsi was the bowler. Sanju played well but failed take India home.

Earlier, David Miller and Heinrich Klassen slammed unbeaten fifties to power South Africa to 249/4 in the first innings. South Africa were troubled by the movement for the Indian pacers caused by moisture of the pitch due to rain causing delay in proceedings for nearly two hours.

At 110/4 in 22.2 overs, South Africa were staring at a low total when Miller (75 not out off 63 balls) and Klassen (74 not out off 65 balls) shared a rollicking stand of 139 runs off 106 balls and took the attack to the Indian bowlers to bring the Proteas back in the match.
