Indian Women's Team Likely To Face Pakistan In Asian Games 2023 Finals; All You Need To Know

Asian Games 2023: The Indian women's cricket team had a fantastic start to their campaign where they were ruthless against Malaysia. The match remained undecided because of the rain, but the domination of Blue jerseys was magnificent.

Indian team made 173 runs in just 15 overs with Shafali Verma making history. Jemimah Rodrigues also came close to a half-century while Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh played sensational cameos.

The match ended with no result, but the Indian team qualified for the Semi-Finals because of their high seed. On the other hand, the Pakistan team also qualified for the semifinal after a no-contest match.

Dominating Performances

The batting department of the Indian team was sensational. Shafali Verma scored a brilliant half-century and became the first Indian to do it in the Asian Games. Jemimah Rodrigues remained not out on 47.

Richa Ghosh made 21 runs in just 7 deliveries. And while Smriti got a brilliant start she failed to convert it into a big total and got out on 27 in just 16 deliveries. The Malaysian team could only bat for 2 deliveries before the rain hit.

Epic Knockout Clashes In Asian Games 2023

India has some exciting and drooling upcoming fixtures. On one hand, India might face the Bangladesh team in the first Semi-Final. Considering all the Harmanpreet Kaur controversy and fight between the teams, it will be an epic clash.

On the other hand, India might also face Pakistan in the finals of the match. Pakistan has qualified for the semi-finals and will face Sri Lanka there. If they win, they will qualify for finals where hopefully, the Indian team will also be waiting for them.

Both of these fixtures are mouth-watering and the finals will be played on October 7, 2023. The Men's team will start their campaign on October 3 and will play the finals on the same date.
