IPL 2023: A fiery brawl unfolded between RCB’s prominent batter Virat Kohli and LSG’s Gautam Gambhir after Royal Challengers Bangalore secured an 18-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants. The intense argument between the two cricket icons escalated quickly, prompting members from both teams to intervene and defuse the situation before it could take a nasty turn.

Virat and LSG Players, Gautam Gambhir involve in fight
In the video footage, you can witness the involvement of KL Rahul, Amit Mishra, and Faf du Plessis as they step in to separate the two Delhi-born cricketers. Prior to this incident, during the match, Virat Kohli had performed a “finger on lips” gesture after taking the catch of Krunal Pandya. Many perceived this action as a response to Gautam Gambhir’s earlier silent taunt towards the Bangalore crowd, which occurred during their previous encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Earlier, there was some on-field clash between Virat Kohli & Naveen Ul Haq, and Amit Mishra during the chase. Severe death stares and umpire intervened but it appeared that the moment was very heated. After the match, the altercation continued when Naveen Ul Haq & Virat Kohli met during the hand-shake time after the match. The moment quickly turned very nasty as Naveen tried to show his finger and shout on former skipper. However, Maxwell and Du Plessis calmed the moment.
Soon after, Kyle Mayers came to have a word with him but his body language seemed aggressive as well. Gambhir separated the duo at that time but later Gambhir and Kohli themselves got into the argument. Kohli was trying to say his side but Gambhir continued to speak for his players. Amidst all this Amit Mishra intervened and calmed the atmosphere. Later, KL Rahul was spotted chatting with Virat near the boundary ropes.
In the reverse fixture, Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged victorious with an 18-run margin. Kohli played a crucial role in the team’s triumph, contributing significantly with a valuable knock of 31 runs. He provided excellent support to Faf du Plessis, who scored a vital 44 runs off 40 deliveries.
