Injury woes continue in CSK

After the loss to Rajasthan Royals, CSK coach Stephen Fleming gave an update on the team’s fitness, revealing that captain MS Dhoni is struggling with a knee injury, and providing an update on Ben Stokes. In addition, Sisanda Magala’s injury was confirmed, and the player is set to miss a few weeks of the IPL 2023 action.

CSK’s injury woes continue as key players face fitness issues, coach Stephen Fleming confirms. Deepak Chahar is ruled out for a couple of weeks, while Simarjeet Singh and Ben Stokes are recovering from fitness issues. Despite getting better day by day, Stokes remains a concern. Adding to the team’s woes, Sisanda Magala is set to miss at least two weeks of action, posing a challenge for CSK skipper MS Dhoni.

What did Fleming say?

Fleming on Wednesday stated, “Deepak Chahar is (out for) two-or-three weeks, Simarjeet Singh… I am guessing a little bit here… he is (out for) 10 days, Ben Stokes is improving day by day, Mukesh Choudhary is out, Magala is out for at least two weeks.”

Giving more insights, he said, “For us again, it’s losing another player – that’s two games in a row – and we’re already pretty thin, so we’d like it (injuries) to stop. Magala’s hand was split, unfortunately, so he was unable to bowl those last two overs. And the same with Deepak Chahar in the last game, so we’re operating on pretty thin resources. But we’re not the only team to have that.”
